TriZetto Names John Fessler Senior Vice President of Sales
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – April 30, 2003 – The TriZetto® Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:TZIX) named John Fessler senior vice president of its sales organization. Fessler will oversee coordination, planning and administration of sales across all TriZetto products and services. He will be responsible for developing and expanding partnerships with key health plan and benefits administrator customers. Fessler will report directly to John Kao, executive vice president and chief revenue officer for TriZetto.
"John is a tremendous asset to TriZetto," said Kao. "His credibility with leading health plans and his disciplined leadership style will be invaluable to our overall sales effort. With almost two decades in healthcare and direct payer experience, John understands not just how to sell, but how to build lasting, strategic partnerships with our customers. In addition, his financial expertise will be useful in helping customers create the most effective technology solution from TriZetto's comprehensive product and service offerings."
Fessler's experience includes more than 20 years in healthcare, most recently as president of Payer Services for ProxyMed, Inc. (formerly MedUnite), a healthcare transaction company formed by seven leading health plans. In this role, he developed partnerships and strategic business opportunities with the senior leadership of top managed care customers. Prior to MedUnite, Fessler spent 20 years at Arthur Andersen, a professional services firm. He was a partner at Andersen from 1993 to 2000, responsible for the healthcare strategy practice in the Western region. In that role, Fessler developed products and services – including e-business strategy and application, value creation, financial feasibility and forecasting – for healthcare providers and payers. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from the University of California, Berkeley, and his master's in business administration from the Presidential/Key Executive General Management Program at Pepperdine University.
